How to Rank Up in Tactical Swat Simulator
XP, uniforms, and the passes that unlock Desert Stockpile and Silent Guest.
Ranks in Tactical: Swat Simulator do two jobs. They change how your officer looks, and they stand in front of mission pads. Recruits who only chase cosmetics miss the second job and then swear Desert Stockpile is bugged.
This guide covers the visible ladder, the two named gates (Special Forces and FBI), and how XP actually moves. It does not invent a twenty-rank table the studio has not published. When a weekly patch adds a title, latest update will say so.
What we can confirm
- New accounts spawn as Recruit.
- Gameplay and creator videos show a mid title around Senior Operator near level five.
- SWAT Commander is treated as the prestige uniform tier in community clips.
- Special Forces is both a gamepass (249 Robux) and a mission gate for Desert Stockpile and Hijacked Waters. The pass also grants exclusive uniforms, C4, and the MP5.
- FBI is a gamepass (225 Robux) and the gate for Silent Guest, plus exclusive gear and the breaching shotgun.
- Liking the game and joining We Have Motives grants 100 XP on top of $350. That is the only free XP drop besides raids.
If a YouTuber’s rank name does not match yours, the studio may have renamed a rung. Trust the pad lock tooltip in your client over a three-month-old thumbnail.
How XP is earned
Complete missions. Full Active Tasks pay better than extracts with missing cuffs — the same rule as Cash. Secure civilians quests exist specifically to feed this loop. Killing everything and leaving leaves XP on the table.
Double XP (99 Robux) is the cheapest pass that only does one thing. If you hate the recruit grind and you already own a decent gun, it is a cleaner purchase than a sniper you will use on two pads.
Clans can apply XP boosters. Members playing missions also generate diamonds for the clan. A booster on a dead clan still requires you to raid. See clans.
Codes do not grant XP except the group bonus. CLANS the code is Cash. Do not confuse it with the clan feature.
Rank gates versus skill gates
A locked pad with Special Forces or FBI in the tooltip is a rank/pass gate. Buy or earn it.
A pad you can enter but immediately fail is a skill or kit gate. Night Exhibit is dark, not locked. Smuggler’s Run is long-range, not locked. Those problems are solved with maps and weapons, not with Robux.
Experimental Zone is not a rank. It is a test place. BROKEN PLACE DO NOT USE is not a secret rank either.
What each gate is worth
Special Forces (249) — take it if you want MP5, C4, and the two locked pads more than you want a dog. C4 is a real breaching tool. MP5 with the new semi option is a locker staple. Uniforms are extra. This is the pass we rank highest for players who already finished recruit maps. Details on the gamepass tier.
FBI (225) — take it for Silent Guest and the breaching shotgun. If you main CQB houses, the shotgun matters more than the desert pad. If you main rifles, Special Forces probably frees more content.
You can own both. You should not buy both on night one. Run getting started to the point of boredom first.
Uniforms and locker items
VIP adds exclusive locker items and a chat tag. FBI and Special Forces add exclusive uniforms. None of those uniforms increase damage by themselves. Buy them because you like the look or because they bundle tools, not because a gold braid adds HP. Medkit is the actual HP pass (90 HP every 20 seconds).
A practical climb
- Collect the 100 XP group bonus and clear recruit quests.
- Main Cash Under Fire and Locked Tenants until Senior Operator-style titles appear and the locker feels stocked.
- Decide which locked pad you actually want. Desert and water = Special Forces. Guest = FBI.
- If the grind feels fake, Double XP. If the pad is the goal, buy the named pass.
- After the gate, rebuild the loadout. C4 and MP5 change how you enter rooms. The loadout tool assumes you might own them.
Ranks are a door, not a skill rating. A commander who never presses F still fails Active Tasks. Pair this page with how to play so the title on your nametag matches the raid you can actually finish.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I unlock Desert Stockpile?
You need Special Forces access (rank or the 249 Robux pass). The pass also includes MP5 and C4. See the gamepass tier.
How do I unlock Silent Guest?
FBI access. The FBI pass adds exclusive gear and the breaching shotgun. Details in missions.
Do codes give XP?
Shop codes give Cash. The like-and-group bonus gives 100 XP plus $350. Live Cash strings are on the codes hub.
Is Double XP better than Double Cash?
Double XP is for gates. Double Cash is for the locker. If pads are locked, buy XP. If pads are open but guns are weak, buy Cash. Compare both on gamepasses.
